Single Knotted Wire Lamp by Rik ten Velden
This lamp was inspired by a trip to the harbor museum in Rotterdam. Rik met two employees of the museum specializing in knotting techniques which are used on a ship. He was fascinated by all those different kinds of objects they knotted, so Rik asked them if they could teach him some techniques – and then knotted for three months to perfect the technique.
The Single Knotted Wire Lamp was made with a single textile coated wire and knotted in a form reflecting its maritime inspiration.
